Visa Requirement

For studying in Germany you need a student visa. The student visa is initially granted for 3 months. It will be extended by the Foreigners’ Registration Office for one year at a time until the completion of your studies. Here is a list of the requirements for application. Please check at the website of the German Embassy for any changes.

• It is important to apply in time as the visa process might take between 4 and 8 weeks.
• You are required to get a valid Health Insurance from a German Insurance provider.
• Proof of accommodation.
• Proof of University admission and fees paid.
• Proof of financial means to cover the costs for the time of your studies.
• Blocked account in Germany in the name of the applicant showing a minimum balance of Euro 7,9.5, – and the remark that the account holder can dispose of a monthly amount of EURO 659.
• Visa fees thru DD of approx Rs 4000.
• Should have cleared IELTS (6 band or above)/TOEFL (550 points paper based).
• For German Language course applicant should know basic level of German Language.
• Will be provided initially three month visa, which will be extended once applicant reach Germany.

Checklist for visa application:
> Two complete sets of application forms
> Application fee (INR 1,100)
> Copy of the admission letter from the selected University
> Original degree certificates
> Financial proof (approx. INR 350,000)
> Health Certificate (recent medical check-up, x-ray)
